Simpler Recycling is a government initiative that aims to make recycling easier and more consistent for everyone in England. Households, schools and businesses will all follow the same guidelines to minimise waste and ensure we recycle right, every time.

Simply, all waste will be categorised into one of these three categories -

  • Residual (non-recyclable) waste
  • Food and garden waste
  • Dry recyclable materials

These nationwide changes aim to reduce confusion around waste and where to put it, with the goal of becoming a circular economy that has sustainability at its core.
